43.3 Disease

• Usually self limiting benign disease in adults
• worse in kids
• Way worse in immunocompromised

There is no effective therapy for cryptosporidium. Have to wait and give back immune system

Its particularly bad in young kids

43.4 Diagnose

• Auramine stain of stool (giemsa not much use)

43.5 Treat

Maybe nitazoxanide?

Immunocompromised hosts. There’s really nothing good for this. You need to fix immune system
